Hello,
I've got a fresh install of 1.38.0 on FreeBSD6. So far backup jobs and
restores to files and tapes work fine. One question, when defining a machine
in the client resource is it better to use an IP or a dns name? I'm going to
be getting in to backing up remote clients which is why i'm asking.
I was wondering if someone could check out my director config, below, and
tell me if it needs any optimization or could be condensed? I'd like to get
it working before i get in to dvd-writing, has anyone tried it with the
dvd+rw-tools port and 1.38.0, and encrypted communications between both
internal network and external internet machines i want to back up, if anyone
has any configs for that i'd like to hear from you as well. I'll write back
with any sample files i come up with and firewall rules, i use pf, Kern
mentioned he wanted to have some for the manual.
Good luck Kern on your sergery.
Thanks.
Dave.
