All *conf files in /etc/bacula have rights 640, owner root, group bacula.
So, they are readable by user bacula. I changed this already earlier today,
when I expected this to be the problem after noticing that rpmnew-conf files
had this group/rights setting. Anyway, it didn't help, didn't make director
to start.

SD did start as user bacula, but it couldn't access the tape drive.

So, to make things work in a quick and dirty way, I changed them both to run
as user root, this is the way how previous binary rpm packages in
Sourceforge had been built. This is a decent workaround, at least safe
enough for my environment, although running as non-root would be nice.

My FC4 install in question is less than a month old, with a minimum amount
of any changes made, so it reflects quite well a pure FC4 where *fc4.rpm
could be expected to run as such.

For now, 1.38.3 is beta and it's understandable that there may be things to
fix. However, building a binary rpm from a source rpm with build_fc4 option
doesn't now produce a working rpm for FC4, so from my point of view there is
something that needs developer attention, although this is not an urgent
matter. This includes concern how to make tape drive accessible for
out-of-the-rpm installation etc.

Regards,
Timo
