i tried. Too bad, the filenames are not shown correctly even in the bconsole running windows. The umlauts are missing. Only the characters, the filenames are there. I use : cat /etc/sysconfig/i18n LANG="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" COUNTRY="de" LANGUAGE="de" CHARSET="iso8859-15" XMODIFIERS="" on my server running: Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 with 2.6.4-1-686 i hope this is useful, Thanks all and especially kern for considering my case.
