I think it depends on what you're trying to backup. I'm not really a
Windows backup person, but my understanding is that NTBackup is better
at writing out what it calls a "system state" than other ways. Perhaps
if you never intend to need to restore that without restoring the full
PC, that does not matter... but if I were backing up a windows box, I
think I'd do that anyway, in case I wanted to restore that independently
(not sure how one would do that otherwise -- I'd not be clear on what to
restore).
