I basically built it on Ubuntu 12.04 and then hand-built an ipkg for it. I
had to use the "LD_LIBRARY_PATH" hack to get the bacula daemons to find
their libraries.

So I hacked bacula-ctl-fd to use this line to start the fd:
 LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.:/opt/lib ${BACFDBIN}/bacula-fd $2 $3 ${OPTIONS} -v -c
${BACFDCFG}/bacula-fd.conf
I'm just about (within a month or so) to do it again, since I built the
new version of Bacula and the sds have to be updated. I've been better
about documentation lately so I'll probably have something to send you then.

My model for using Bacula on the QNAPs is that I back up to a folder on the
same system, and then RSYNC those to a removable disk weekly and take them
off-site. I use one job per share so I can set different retention
policies for different shares.

I'd been begging for cross-sd migration jobs for years, and I hear that's
available in the for-pay version. I'm actually thinking about getting it,
if they would support the QNAPs too.
