Hello Bacula community,

After more than 20 years in the backup ecosystem — many of them here
on this list — I'd like to share the launch of NGBackup, a project our
holding (LSG Global Group) built through NGStructures.

NGBackup is an AI-era, distributed enterprise data-protection
platform. Instead of patching a decades-old code base, the platform
was rewritten in Rust (memory-safe). Highlights:

- Automated agent enrollment with no clear-text passwords: a
single-use token brings up a pinned-fingerprint TLS channel and seals
the password on both sides; the catalog stores only the hash.
- A modern Web Console (job/client/pool/schedule/storage wizards) and
a Restore Studio with full-VM, granular, database and point-in-time
restore.
- VM replication with cross-hypervisor restore (V2V): VMware, Hyper-V,
Proxmox, Nutanix AHV, CloudStack — CBT and DR built in.
- Next-generation global deduplication (source + target) with segment
locality and bloom filters — at least 20x, with real-world cases up to
60x, at far lower disk/RAM cost.
- Active ransomware detection with immutable (WORM) backups.
- 20+ commercial plugins included — Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL,
M365, Active Directory and more — to disk, tape and cloud (S3, OCI,
Azure, GCS).

There is a free Community edition, and commercial editions are 50%+
cheaper than the usual proprietary suites, with a migration discount
for those coming from Veeam/Commvault/NetBackup.

Happy to answer technical questions here or off-list.
