Dear Dick,

With all due respect to Brent, whose opinions I enjoy reading on this list, I suggest you ignore his comment about taking the book out to the trash. The book has historical value, and we are not supposed to destroy books, even covenant breaking books. The first edition dated 1900 is listed as a covenant breaker book in Collins' _Bibliography of English-Language Works on the Babi and Baha'i Faiths 1844-1985_. When I was involved with the Seattle archives, I purchased this book on behalf of the archives and paid over $500 I also know an assistant to the Auxiliary Board for protection that owns a later edition published in the 1930s. It has significant historical value in understanding the early development of the Faith in this country, in which Kheiralla played an important role, which is why Stockman used the book and made reference to it in his book on the history of the Faith in America. If you have read _The Crooked Made Straight_, a book supported by the Universal House that also cited multiple covenant breaker sources, you would know that covenant breaker books have a legitimate place in Bahai scholarship. I suspect there are a number of collectors and historians that would be happy to take the book off of your hands if you don't want it, but I hope you will auction it off and use the proceeds for your center.

Sincerely, Marleen
