This is precisely the understanding of Shoghi Effendi in 1921, when he was
surprised to find out about the Guardianship. He often stated that he expected
that his role, at most, as the Master's eldest grandson, was to help with the
election of the Universal House of Justice. Therefore, until 1921 when W&T was
read, there was nothing whatsoever to suggest that there was relationship
between the Aghsan and the House.
