I don't think that is exactly accurate
Most Jews would not accept Messianic Judaism, including the Jews for Jesus, as
a legitimate branch of Judaism. However, Orthodox and Conservative Jews would
accept anyone born of a Jewish mother as a Jew. Reform ("Liberal" outside of
the U.S.) Jews would also allow patriarchal descent. If a Jew for Jesus
conforms to those criteria, she or he would be regarded as a Jew.
