Tim, I believe that there is an easier way to
answer the issues regarding evolution. The it comes from Abdu'l-Baha
Himself.
The first answer to this argument is the fact that
the animal having preceded man is not a proof of the evolution, change and
alteration of the species, nor that man was raised from the animal world to the
human world. For while the individual appearance of these different beings is
certain, it is possible that man came into existence after the
animal.
(Abdu'l-Baha, Some Answered Questions, p.
192)
I believe He is telling mankind that it must
continue to investigate the matter.
On other issues, the Universal House of Justice
pointed out that factual errors occur because one of the Three Central Figures
of the Faith or Shoghi Effendi or the Universal House of Justice use erroneous
information that has been offered by ordinary men. Notwithstanding this,
however, They are protected from error. The men who made the factual
misstatement must answer for the error. Is Baha'u'llah to be held
responsible for the form of His script after He was poisoned?
Richard.
