Gilberto:
Does that mean that "anything goes"? Would it be possible for one year
that stealing and raping and murdering are wrong and the next year,
they become virtuous acts? Why or why not?

Dear Gilberto: I am quite pleased that you have joined the issue. I am
certain, however, that there is no doubt whatever in any part of your being
that Allah may do whatever He pleases. I am, as well, certain that you are
aware of the significance of the following verses.

106. None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We
substitute something better or similar; knowest thou not that Allah hath
power over all things (The Qur'an (Yusuf Ali tr), Surah 2)

Consonant with the above, He has revealed:

"Seest thou not that in truth hath God created the Heavens and the Earth?
Were such his pleasure He could make you pass away, and cause a new creation
to arise" (The Qur'an (Rodwell tr), Sura 14 - Abraham, on Whom be Peace)

And when He decreeth a thing,
He only saith to it, "Be," and it is.
(The Qur'an (Rodwell tr), Sura 2 - The Cow)

Peace, Peace.

Valla con Dios

Richard.
