Dear Don,
David is from New Zealand where degrees are much more specialized than
they are in the United States. It is a three year program and doesn't
require the all the general education courses American universities
have.
I think most foreign countries see our fascination with general or
liberal arts education as an attempt to make up for what we didn't do
in high school.
