A search of the web reveals mostly genealogies published by covenant
breaker organizations, unfortunately. Although there are a few posted
by reputable sources. I hope the CB's have not so tarnished this area
of discourse as to ruin it for all time.
Call me a foolish romantic sentimentalist, if you must, but I find the
descent of Baha'u'llah from the royal David line to be charming ( as
you may recall, I really liked "Thief in the Night" despite your
pointing out to me it is riddled with errors).
I'm well aware of the math, (I have degrees in Math and Physics and a
masters in Operations Research (essentially applied mathematics) and I
have read many times the "explanation" of how we all share all
ancestors , but it just ain't true.
Typically, we all share many, maybe most ancestors. But each of us
also has a lot of ancestors who are our ancestor thousands of times
over, due to local breeding populations etc. Not everyone is descended
from David, or any other individual.
It remains me of the very common canard that flying is safer than
driving, because there are more deaths per mile traveled by car than
by air. But as my gut correctly informs every time I fly (which is all
the time) I am far more at risk every minute in the air than in my
car.
