The Baha'i Studies Listserv
David,

May I venture an opinion? I love animals too. However should I ever have
the great good fortune of entering the Abha Kingdom and hanging out with the
rest of you, I still wouldn't want to have to walk my mutts very early,
every morning. Somehow that would tend to defeat all the good works I did in
this life that would entitle me a small place in the most great mansions of
the Lord.

On the other hand, in heaven it might be possible that they could always
walk themselves and pick up their own mess.

Then again I have had many pets in the course of my life but what would I do
with all of them, all at once? How would I pick and choose from among them?

The more I think about it the more complex it gets. I assume that justice
would have to be practiced in the many worlds that will follow this one.

Do you think that it might be possible that we will come to more deeply
understand the place of our dear pets in the grand scheme of things? And
that our memories of them will become more vivid over time?

I once had a turtle named Roy and two goldfish named Phil and Don. I wish
they were still around.

Bill
