It is upsetting to me that animals do not go to heaven. It is difficult to see heaven as that wonderful if I don't get to see the pets I've had. Can anyone help me on this?

There is a pilgrim's note, attributed to `Abdu'l-Baha, to the effect that, if you need the animals in the world to come, they will be there. Presumably, the implication is that they will not be needed.

Aside from that, I don't know. To my understanding, animals, however wonderful some of them may be, are not immortal souls. They are entirely material beings.

The basic fault lines today are not between people with different beliefs but between people who hold these beliefs with an element of uncertainty and people who hold these beliefs with a pretense of certitude." — Peter L.
