sen,
a circle is a special case of an ellipse...not a squared ellipse.
a contract is a case of a covenant, not the other way around as u alleged.
because the in the majority of interactions covered by law, there is an
assmuption of equality,
and covenants do not require this, perhaps ur law books stuffed convenants in
as a special case.
what i explained was my view that contracts derive from an inherent imbalance,
beginning with the relationship between Creator and created, and serve as model
for other ways to define relationships.
basically, i am missing seeing the thing u want light shown on...and dealt with
the known of what appears shady in the way u present it.
looking at the issue of Moses coming back down the mountain, there is still
demonstration going on.
to deal here....humans have god over a barrel. they can get other gods. god
can get no other creation...unless, as i would, we add the bok of Enoch to the
Deal.
i would share common ground with u that a covenant does not end with a
breach. this is another case of not actually conforming to the worldly example
cited. enforceability, penalty clauses, etc come into play.
:"it is
open-ended - it means following when God does a new thing."
that supposition requires evidence that god has so said.
the gods we make and therefore worship as in our image do this all the time.
the One, not so often.
btw, i realllly want to thank you for the Jeremiah cite... heheheh...
which i rather correlate "the seal the kingdom is God's ahall be stamped upon
the brow"
and another reallly interesting tool against certain triumphalist
interpretations of theocracy, as well as the random Christian missionary.
imho it can be rather dangerous to assume the possessor of the lesser Covenant
has a greater portion of the Greater Covenant.
israel after a mistake or 2 does not become "just another heathern
nation"--becuase there are no just another heathern nations.
imho this is rather more than important. there are no "just another".
the chosen people are the ones with pulses.
all who "hasten unto the Lord" are isra'El.
"heathen" are those who maintain praxes of the country, as opposed to praxes
of the "city"..the civitas..
there is slowly emerging a City--augustine and pulman use the metahphor (His
dark materials trilogy)--in which the cite from jeremiah is manifested.
inside that City, there is >no way out<. there is no banishment, and doing
trade with another people.
and so...
:"Being unconditional, we do not get to decide that
> it's not working so we can walk away. The end of the Guardianship, or
> a decision we do not like, or being disenrolled from the community,
> does not entitle us to say that God has stopped walking with us, that
> the covenant is over or that we are not part of it any more. It is
> unconditional."
i would restate this is as follows, ans we can see then how much common ground
we share:
we do not get to decide its not working. we get to say this is how we eant it
to work for us. the end of our perception of the Guardianhip as a matieral
artifact, and the emergence of once and future king; a decision we do not like;
or being told we do not understand a contract in the way the oter party does,
and so it is annulled; none of tse alllow the self >>or others<< to say The
DEal has been broken, or never way.
The Deal is:
"do u notremember that glorious morn when I gathered ye all in the garden?
"i'm trying...i'm trying...You be the One Invoked, and i will try to
understand how bst to invoke You, second by second, on the ground, belly to the
dust, eyeing the Above.
