The Baha'i Studies Listserv This thread seems to have traveled from: "Will someone tell me, why this booklet is of value?" to a nebulous concrete assertion that, "...the Center still holds." How did we get from one to the other? The booklet," Who is Writing the Future", seems to me to be a simple, yet pragmatic explanation of the consequences of the 20th century. It also imparts a pleasant promise for the future.
"...the Center still holds", can project any number of possibilities. From a Baha'i prospective, one can assume that the intent of this phrase is to reassure believers that, if we see Baha'u'lla as the center of our being (both personal and plural), we will inherit the promise of unity...and all it implies. Such a statement could be made independent of the original question. I don't see how we make progress by constantly using circular reasoning to answer every question.
