This, is the original topic: "Polishing one's soul is done by: praying, including the daily obligatory prayer (Most Holy Book, paras 10-14) and reciting the Greatest Name (Allah'u'Abha) 95 times per day (Most Holy Book, para 18) fasting (Most Holy Book, paras 10-17) reading the holy writings every morning and evening (Most Holy Book, para 149) bringing ourselves to account each day (Arabic Hidden Word no 31) teaching the faith (Gleanings, CXLIV) acting in a moral way working in a spirit of service (Most Holy Book, para 33). Please reply by talking about your own experiences with polishing your soul. Also, specify how each point impacts your life. Also, do you fast outside of the required month? (An extreme example would be fasting like David according to some Hadith. The Hadith say that David consider every day to be a fast day.) How often do you pray general prayers? How often do you recite the Greatest Name (as dhikr, well over and beyond the dialy 95 requirement)? How do you exactly bring yourself to an account each day? (I do, but I never know if I am doing it correctly.)" The topic got derailed by the fact that this topic was based on info from Allison's website. PS. The problem between Allison Marshall and the Universal House of Justice in Haifa, Israel is a technicality dispute over the nature of infallibiity. It's on her "Commentary on the Divine Unity". __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe: send a blank email to mailto:[email protected] Subscribe: send subscribe bahai-st in the message body to [email protected] Or subscribe: http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/all_forums/subscribe?name=bahai-st Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:[email protected] Web - http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/?forum=bahai-st News (on-campus only) - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe: send a blank email to mailto:[email protected] Subscribe: send subscribe bahai-st in the message body to [email protected] Or subscribe: http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/all_forums/subscribe?name=bahai-st Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:[email protected] Web - http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/?forum=bahai-st News (on-campus only) - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
