'Abdu'l-Baha speaks of pairs, Moses and Aaron, Jesus and Peter, Muhammad and Ali. The Ummayyads didn't last 1260 > years. And they didn't start in 622 A.D. either. The point is that from the standpoint of Baha'is something went terribly wrong in Islamic history. Also the text is clear that two witnesses would be unconquered > during 42 months of their prophecy and then it isn't until after that > period is over that the beast will rule for another 42 months. And in > general the rest of the details don't really track. I think both things are true.
