The Baha'i Studies Listserv Susan, the tiny island nation in the Pacific you can't remember is Papua New Guinea. I don't think it's that tiny. It's the eastern half of a big island, the western half is part of Indonesia. Two nationals and five locals. In 2012 the Universal House of Justice announced plans to build two national Houses of Worship aside from the continental ones above.[5] These were for the Democratic Republic of Congo (see Bahá'í Faith in the Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Papua New Guinea. In addition plans for the first local Houses of Worship were also announced - for Battambang, Cambodia; Bihar Sharif, India (see Bahá'í Faith in India); Matunda Soy, Kenya (See Bahá'í Faith in Kenya); Norte del Cauca, Colombia (see Bahá'í Faith in Colombia); and Tanna, Vanuatu.

If you read the wiki website carefully you will see that in every case mentioned above the Temples are actually located in suburbs or nearby villages. Here is the actual location of these Temples: Australia (Ingleside) Chile (outside of Santiago on the Pan-American Highway) Germany (Langenhain-Hofheim) United States (Wilmette) As for the planned construction, most of the places you mentioned are far down the list. Once we complete the temple in Chile, the next temples will be built in the Congo, another will be built in a tiny Pacific island country whose name I have forgotten and a third temple will be built in India. > The Baha'i Faith isn't the only faith that employs an urban strategy. We don't actually have an urban strategy, but temples need to be built where there are enough Baha'is to take care of it. > So to the question. Do Baha'is build in urban areas without knowing about > this blindly? As I demonstrated above, in fact we don't really build in urban areas. There are often urban areas nearby, but not where the Temple itself is located. warmest, Susan __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe: send a blank email to mailto:leave-652423-1719008.2a3842ae5b2f7d34dd5fdfc724616...@list.jccc.edu Subscribe: send subscribe bahai-st in the message body to [email protected] Or subscribe: http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/all_forums/subscribe?name=bahai-st Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:[email protected] Web - http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/?forum=bahai-st News (on-campus only) - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] __________________________________________________ You are subscribed to Baha'i Studies as: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe: send a blank email to mailto:leave-652439-27401.54f46e81b66496c9909bcdc2f7987...@list.jccc.edu Subscribe: send subscribe bahai-st in the message body to [email protected] Or subscribe: http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/all_forums/subscribe?name=bahai-st Baha'i Studies is available through the following: Mail - mailto:[email protected] Web - http://list.jccc.edu:8080/read/?forum=bahai-st News (on-campus only) - news://list.jccc.edu/bahai-st Old Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] New Public - http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
