this may come as a shock to you, but the Baha'i Faith, that organization headed 
by the Universal House of Justice in Haifa, does not conform to the standards 
of a secular liberal democratic society.  that is, it's beliefs are not 
determined by the whims of its membership.  

There are those on-line who believe religions should be regarded as cafeterias 
from which one can pick and choose one's beliefs as one chooses.  I think 
perhaps you'd gain a more sympathetic hearing if you raised these issues with 
them.
