But I do know that Mount Carmel is pretty close to Cairo (which is pronounced "CARE-oh"), so you could very well be right about the local pronunciation. >Are there any other Mount Carmel's I should know about? There are 38 towns called "Mount Carmel" in the US, according to topozone.com (and some states have more than one; I counted 5 in Alabama and 6 in Tennessee!).
