Dear Owen,

It might very well be the most relevant question in the absolute sense. But academic methodology does not deal in absolutes, so if you want to address those kinds of questions you have to use a different tool.  Fortunately these tools usually keeps us away from the kinds of metaphysical speculations which begin and end in words as well.
