What actually confuses me about this statement is, how do we know the Manifestations Themselves actually get Their Revelation "directly" from God.  For example Muhammad apparently got His inspiration from the angel Gabriel.  No, I am not expecting another Manifestation to come soon, but this little "loophole" has troubled me for some time.

Whoso layeth claim to a Revelation direct from God, ere the expiration of a
full thousand years, such a man is assuredly a lying impostor.
(Baha'u'llah:  The Kitab-i-Aqdas, Page: 32)

I just wanted to note something I only recently noticed about the wording of
this sentence.  What I refer to is the words "a Revelation direct from God."
This sentence surely had to be worded this way, as 'Abdu'l-Baha did
Reveal, but His Revelation was from Baha'u'llah, not God directly.  Hence
the importance of the wording, as otherwise 'Abdu'l-Baha's authority would
be refuted by the text of the Aqdas.  'Abdu'l-Baha did lay claim to a
Revelation, but not from God directly.

David
