<> but since Shoghi Effendi indicated 'Abdu'l-Baha Revealed things <>
I get a bit uncomfortable when believers make comments as statements of fact, suggesting that ALL Baha'is must know or believe this -without the authoritative source. And, particularly on an "open" listserve and Baha'i Studies is.
Sorry, I was assuming others on the list would know of references. Here is one:
"...acquainting him with Baha'u'llah's summons issued in His Kitab-i-Aqdas to the Presidents of the American Republics and with certain prayers revealed by Abdu'l-Baha..."
(Shoghi Effendi: God Passes By, Page: 344)
Unless we are talking about something else, saying that 'Abdu'l-Baha revealed prayers is saying that He revealed things. Again:
Not until they have played their part in guiding the activities of these isolated and newly fledged centers, and in fostering their capacity to initiate in their turn institutions, both local and national, modeled on their own, can they be satisfied to have adequately discharged their immediate obligations under Abdu'l-Baha's divinely revealed Plan.
(Shoghi Effendi: The Advent of Divine Justice, Page: 13)
Obviously a "divinely revealed Plan" would be revealed. Also, these references show that 'Abdu'l-Baha's prayers are revealed:
With reference to the matter of meeting in the Foundation Hall of the Mashriqu'l-Adhkar, I feel that the Foundation Hall should serve the purpose both of devotional gatherings where the revealed Word of God is read and chanted
(Shoghi Effendi: Baha'i Administration, Page: 77)
Prayers revealed by Baha'u'llah and the Master as well as sacred Writings of the Prophets should be read or chanted as well as hymns based upon Baha'i or non-Baha'i sacred Writings."
(From a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi to the National
Spiritual Assembly of the United States and Canada, April 2, 1931)
(Multiple Authors: Lights of Guidance, Page: 608)
Regards,
David
