Two significant deaths in the academic world

Two of my favorite intellectuals have just recently passed to the 
next world: Edward W. Said and Donald Davidson. Many of you will 
probably know Said, in fact better than I, but maybe not Davidson. 
Analytical philosophy is such a ghetto and Davidson was one of the 
most important analytical philosophers of the last thirty years.
