Never cranked up am Elim. The Wind I rode didn't have an ES.

Didn't have problems as such. Running on a second starter, the earlier
one lasted for 4.5 years. Was just curious as to the noise made by it.
So there is no difference in the mechanism except thats its externally
placed?
