To remove your this assumption please contact any of the best mechanic in your 
city.If this is so why do the cars come with disc brakes???????????Its simple 
because disc brakes when applied have good power to stop a car/bike at high 
speeds.If you will see 15 years old Maruti 800 you will find disc brakes at 
front.

Discs are not required, if the drums generate enough force to lock the
wheels. And if that happens, then the car needs better broader softer
rubber. Which, I suspect, is the case (pure speculation, though)
