Hi PPL, Had been to Bajaj Probiking, Bhandup, Mumbai. It was poor experience wrt following
No formal across-the-table discussion...you are expected to just walk in and buy what you want, or simply come in, drool at ninja and walk out. A female, who has probably never ridden a Pulsar demoed me the bike on stationary test bench (dynamo?), carefully asked me not to ride above 80kmph! I went the second time and this time a sales guy was able to provide me unrestricted test. Could even show me his 0-100 acceleration and full 140km on odo, thankfully. The senior guy there had all information on his laptop and this female was doing a lookup with him all the time. so i decided to talk to him. When I asked for pricing information of different options, he sounded irritated, "which one you really want to buy?" was the question with frowns! I pointed out that the naked P220 variant had smaller (35W) output but less chances of fairing vibes, compared to full fairing version, he was agitated and took the stance that he has sold more bikes and he knows better!! He was very reluctant to provide me a way wherein I can be informed during RTO formalities (so that I can try to get the number on my own with my acquaintances). When he went around, the girl gave me number of another senior and suggested that I talk to him. This guy told me to merely ask the sales person to write "choice number by customer" and it will be done!!! No test ride for Ninja (street or dynamo), you cannot even get on it to check the stance and cockpit view :( either you buy it, or just look at it and leave. finally , after booking P220, I was given a booking slip that mentioned "Pulsar 220 DTS-i SF". This SF actually meant "Fastest Indian version". The naked version is officially called "Street Fighter" and its sold as "DTS-i S". These are stupidest abbreviations I have ever seen, Hopefully I get the correct one! Apart from the ninja on display, avenger hanging by the ceiling, and DTS-i engine's exploded models, I didnt find anything worth at Bajaj probike showroom...I believe the buying experience at non-probiking showroom would be much much better. Dont see any utility in pro-biking showroom at all! Kiran http://blog.kiranghag.com/2010/03/choice-by-elimination-vs-choice-by.html
