SEMINAR ON BIOFUELS and CLIMATE CHANGE:
Myth or Real Solution Organized by: Institute for Essential Services Reform Goodway Hotel, Nusa Dua, Tuesday, 11 December 2007 WHAT? IESR organized a seminar on Biofuel and Climate Change: Myth or Real Solution. In this seminar, we will try to explore three questions: 1) Are biofuels good and GHGs free fuels? 2) Are biofuels production sustainable or can be make sustainable and environmentally friendly?; 3) Are biofuel production in Indonesia economically viable? Speakers: Dr. Werner Zittel (Ludwig Bolkow SystemTechnik, Germany). An expert in fuel process and renewable energy from Germany. He will speak on biofuel process and calculate the energy balance of biofuels and GHGs production using E3 Tools. Wisnu A. Martono (MASLI). An Indonesia environmental economist. He will speak on the economics of biofuel production in Indonesia and analyze the impact of current pricing mechanism to the farmer. Eriell Salim (Forum Biofuel Indonesia). Energy policy analyst from Pelangi Indonesia. He will speak on Biofuel policy and challenge of biofuel production in Indonesia (invited speaker) Abednego Tarigan (Sawit Watch).
