No, it doesnt work.
If the attachement is utf-8, it is fine
if the attachementis iso-8859-1 (or -15) it says that the message is not US-ASCII nor UTF-8 and ask for the encoding.
Oh, right...I didn't read your mail carefully enough! That patch handles only text in the message body--quoted, included, or whatever.
I assume you're attaching a file that contains an email message, not attaching a message from a Balsa mailbox, is that correct? Balsa
No I create an email and attach a file which is a 'fr.po' file
Here is the beginning of such a file
# translation of fr.po to
# translation of fr.po to
#
# Translators, if you are not familiar with the PO format, gettext
# documentation is worth reading, especially sections dedicated to
# this format, e.g. by running:
# info -n '(gettext)PO Files'
# info -n '(gettext)Header Entry'
# Some information specific to po-debconf are available at
# /usr/share/doc/po-debconf/README-trans
# or http://www.debian.org/intl/l10n/po-debconf/README-trans#
# Developers do not need to manually edit POT or PO files.

uses gnome_vfs_get_file_info to find out what's in a file, and tries to find a charset only if it's text/*, so apparently gnome_vfs_get_file_info is saying it's text/* instead of message/*. Perhaps we should replace GNOME_VFS_FILE_INFO_GET_MIME_TYPE with GNOME_VFS_FILE_INFO_FORCE_SLOW_MIME_TYPE--could you try that?
Tried without success.
Best,
Peter
