Door chimes ring, and the doorman looks to see his principle already by the door. OB: [opening the door] Oh great! You came. They're still in there! AdM: Who? (Reaching for his sabre). The Society for Free Commission Purchase? OB: Sally, her mom, and a whole squadron of girlfriends! I asked Sally to marry me two weeks ago, and they have been in there ever since, I even hear laughter, and shouting, I hope she does not find my proposal funny. Ok, I'm small in stature, and I wasn't raised rough and tumble to be a warrior, and my nose isn't quite straight, but I'm a good man, aren't I? I hope Jackie isn't in there, well, I was good to her, and I still think of her fondly, maybe it's ok, wait, does that make it better or worse? AdM: Calm down Oeufs! Your wits are positively scrambled! A Lt. Colonel of the Dragoon Guards is a prize _no_ lady would pass up in a hurry - especially one with your enviable record on the battlefield. The hard-boiled major I've been fighting alongside these past months is what is needed here, not some callow youth with his heart in his mouth and the look of being in someone else's uniform! OB: Right. I have become a warrior, after all, didn't the King make me a Baron for extraordinary leadership and battle prowess [BR 1], or something, and I have moved into the higher circles of Society, she should be glad I asked her, and jump at the opportunity. Oh, do you think she thinks that I am an arrogant natterhead? AdM: Whatever did you do to make her start thinking that? In any case, you've asked her, like any other lady she'll keep you on tenterhooks until the very last possible moment and nothing you can say or do now will change things one way or the other - so stop worrying! Presuming that she has the good sense to say 'Yes', what do you plan for the wedding? OB: Well, I'll have a Stag Night at my new club, did you know that I've joined le Fleur? Maybe the second week of the month will be good for that, and then a big wedding, I'll invite the Regiment, all high society [SL 15+], oh, and will you stand with me? AdM: Delighted to oblige! Hope that Pic has cleared up this other unpleasantness to everyone's satisfaction by then... OOC This is a sort of pre announcement. I was anxious for some good Press for the DG. Hopefully there will be wedding, and I won't be wishing that I had not written this. :)
