Your Grace,
I am writing to request your consideration for appointment in the
new government. I believe that my full term's service as Commissioner of
Public Safety, together with several seasons' effective service at the
front, has shown my deep dedication and qualification to serve la France et
le Roi.
Please consider me for appointment as Minister of Justice (only in
the event that Colonel l'Aubergine does not request reappointment to that
post, of course. I defer to him without question or hesitation.)
In the event that Colonel 'Aubergine chooses to retain his position
or you, in your wisdom, see fit to appoint another, please consider my
application for another term as Commissioner of Public Safety.
Finally, should the first two appointments be otherwise filled, I
would be honored to serve as Minister without Portfolio.
