having noticed sooner - clearing up the confusion at HQ regarding my
appointment as Adjutant-General has taken up the majority of my attention
this month, I fear. I greatly look forward to discussing the circumstances
which led to your recent good fortune at the Ball this month.
Sally still not succumbed to your blandishments eh? Hopefully the idea of
becoming a Comtesse will make her see sense at last! Good luck - and if my
duties allow me to remain in Paris next month you may count upon my presence
at the wedding.
