Several notices are posted around the city, and criers announce the
following news:

"General le Marquis Chabot would like it known that he will offer a reward
of one thousand crowns to any person who can provide information leading to
the arrest and conviction of the criminal responsible for robbing his house
last week.  Any informers will be treated with the utmost discretion.
Missing items include a silver candelabra, a quantity of silver plate and a
fine presentation sword with a jewelled hilt.  The sword sheath is
inscribed, 'To Colonel Chabot, with thanks from the loyal soldiers of the
regiment'."
