My Dear Colonel.
I must appear a terrible
ingrate, considering all that you did for me this past month, for failing to
attend your Soiree. I had submitted ordrs based on the announcedMarch date for
the event. I tried to alter those ordrs with an addendum but the paper work may
not have reached headquarters in time to place me at your event. All
felicities ti you and Lady Thora in the New Year. As stated earlier i plan to
take my squadron to the front next month and will brief you on this and seek
your sage advice on gatering intelligence by horseback. Your immeasurable field
experience would be of great benefit to Major Granouille and me. Hopefully a 30
day foray will prove suffficient.
