For the attention of M. le Duc Sam d'Wich.

Please consider this my application for the post of Divisional Adjutant
to the Second Division - the post formerly held by the esteemed
Chevalier Phil Neil de Zaster. It seems customary in these letters to
dwell at length on one's achievements - I will not bore your Grace with
such tedium. Suffice to say that of all men in France, I am ideal for
this appointment, for reasons of innate talent. As a child I was
accidentally dropped from a carriage and suckled by wolves until
recovered by my doting parents. That such early sustenance instils
ferocity and military prowess is well-known and widely documented.
Later I made a habit of hanging upside-down from the rafters, as I have
read is common among the Chinese, the which process had the remarkable
effect lending me astute powers of hyper-observation surpassing those of
common men. An unwillingness to squander such gifts on anything less
than the glory of France led me to a military career. I most sincerely
hope that your swift perusal of my exemplary record will convince you of
the verity of my assertions.

With the very best regards,

Marin Moreau
