aside. It is clear that the Field Marshall understood your
skills. Congratulations on your appointment.
I would like to ask you to appoint me to the First Division command if
you would. While it is tempting to put off this request another month, I
believe my government duties are in such shape as to permit this, and it is
better to get this done now while there is still time to fix mistakes if
headquarters misunderstands you.
