Lt. General ViComte Soire de Success My dear sir,
Indeed, the alacrity with which my predecessor left the post was such that I had to hasten myself across to the offices of the Ministry of War before breakfast in order to make some of the more urgent appointments. I barely had time to put on my dress uniform, and can hardly have cut an impressive figure before the Field Marshall on my first day on the job. I appreciate your good offices in helping persuade the Field Marshall that a change was sorely needed, and hope to get things into shape around here in short order. With regard to the business matter you mention, I have your application in hand for the First Division appointment, and see no difficulties in arranging your appointment as part of the next month's business. I will forward the commission documentation as soon as I have the Field Marshall's signature on the paperwork. Kind regards Nom de Plume.
