I was recently stopped in the hallway of the 2nd Battalion offices by a subaltern of 'D' Company who mistook me for another gentleman, whom specifically I do not recall nor do I care. The subaltern impudently told me that he was in the offices to see "Old Meany" regarding a transfer to the 3rd Battalion. Apparently, as I was edified, "Old Meany" is the pet name for the battalion commander, namely my goodself, as used by the entirety of 'D' Company. I can assure you that I do not take kindly to this kind of disrespect within my battalion. Since I am regimental 2nd in command you might want to think very carefully about your future in the 27th, sir.
