I tracked the problem on the live server.
It was missing a small change in the database structure as per my daily
update on 2010.11.10
If this is the case on your part, then you just have to run the file
update_hackit_db_alpha1.2-alpha2.0-bis.sql wich you should already have
in the sql directory.

I did an upgrade on my system to php5.3.2 in order to replicate the
homepage hack bug and i still cannot.
this means that the problem is most likely somewhere else and it will
be
waste of time on your part to change the version.
i'm going in right now on the live server and try to fix it.
i'll let you know when it's fixed and pushed to the repository
