Happy new year all! 2011 is going to be very exciting, in good part because of this project!
Looking for a good organization name, I check my ideas on the web to see if the words are not already taken. One interesting fact is that if you find an interesting name, you can put the suffix .co (as for community, company) and it's available. The .co suffix is merely never used, which is a detail that I like because it makes the organization more special, unique and mysterious, and harder to find too. So before I was toying with the .org urls, I was happy with these ones: oneeco.org or one-eco.org ---> one ecosystem - one econonmy - one humanity, in English it has an interesting sound too. oneecosystem.org ---> similar, but more environmental oriented With the .co, everything is possible. I like: oneblueplanet.co oneglobe.co unisson.co In the .com domain, which are hard to find because all the good ones are taken, I like: unitedecosystems.com --> business like, strong federation like name, ecosystems includes science, economy, ecology, unity AND diversity. I think that this one is my favorite. . Then: oneglobe.co --> a little strange, ambitious, almost corny, and very vague, all emcompasing, with a very strong sense of community, and at the same time it could be a little scary because of the idea of unification, which could be out of control.
