The issue when we don't own the .com of the game name is referencement -
it's harder to appear on top of the search engines result (especially
for uncommon domain names like .co or .cx - cf our issue with hackit.cx,
which still isn't showing...).

Today I brainstormed with Deborah, Matti and Renata to try to come up
with another set of names, while checking at the same time if the
corresponding .com was available.

One idea, coming from Renata, was to use the concept of Pangea, the
unique continent of which all the current continent are born of - it
conveys well this idea of "one" and "unity". Especially because
scientists believe this is actually a cycle for Earth - Pangea wasn't
the first unique continent, and our continents will eventually reunite
in the future. But most of the interesting domain names are taken for
this... It only gives names that are a bit stretched, like
thehumanpangea.com

Just to give you a few of the names that were mentioned but weren't
really great (in case it gives someone inspiration):

mankindnation.com
federationproject.com
theearthunion.com
theworldnation.com
theglobefoundation.com
theearthfoundation.com
theglobeunion.com

There is however one that stand out and that everyone liked: The Human
Project. humanproject.com is for sale, so we could try to buy it. We
also have a fallback if it is too expensive: humanityproject.com is for
sale too, at $700, which remain affordable.

What do you think? Given the delivery deadline, we can't really spend
much more time debating, I'd personally go for that one - this way
Deborah could start working on the logo and site design tomorrow for
"The Human Project", and we could try to see how much they ask for
humanproject.com to decide if we go for humanproject.com or
humanityproject.com. Until we acquire one of those two domains, we could
use a temporary domain like humanprojectcorp.com. Sounds complicated,
but at least it would allow Deborah to move forward, which is the main
issue here : )

Unless someone has a new idea that everyone immediately falls in love
with?

Xavier.
