[David] I'm not sure there is necessarily an issue here : the partner would fund a specific project and share the royalties, it would not take a stake in the studio. I see it as an industrial partnership, a little bit like the traditional studio/publisher deal except that they don't take control of the IP of the game. If the studio needs to expand at a later stage, I don't think the investors that would come at this stage would see an issue with this partnership. The studio generates revenues with the game, owns the brand, and develops expertise to create other games in the future, that seems compatible with an investor joining. But maybe you see drawbacks that I did not see ? Anyway, I think that as long as we don't know the conditions of this venture, it will be difficult to decide - I'm going to try to contact some people in the coming weeks to learn more about it. _______________________________________________ Hackit Bar mailing list - [email protected] Wiki: http://community.hackit.cx/ List: http://community.hackit.cx/ml/ Forum: http://community.hackit.cx/forum/ Ideas: http://community.hackit.cx/ideas/ IRC: irc://irc.freenode.net/#politis
