Thanks for writing this email Aurelien, I know it has not been easy to come to that conclusion. > I will stay a contributor, and hopefully, one of the major one. At > least I will try. Yes, you definitely have an important place in the project, and I'm sure you will still bring a lot to the project - changing your status changes your responsibilities, but you will still be able to contribute with ideas, on game design concepts, etc. There is a lot to do. > Regularly, we had discussions about the fact that I was not able to > accomplish what David and Xavier considered as the minimum for an > associate, and we tried to invent practical solution. Btw, sorry guys for keeping this discussion off mailing-list until now; as Aurelien explained, it started very early, before we got used to have more people around, and it wasn't very easy to bring it there in the middle of it. We'll need to think of a good way to handle this if it were to happen again in the future - probably some kind of performance appraisal process and/or 121s to deal with it efficiently, while keeping true the promise of avoiding closed door meeting decisions whenever possible. > When I went home, I received a private mail from Xavier saying that he > wasn’t happy with our partnership. Sorry about that one Aurelien - I now realize I should have found a way to talk to you while we were there. > But I didn’t want to step out of the project : I love it and, more, I > still believe I can give a lot to it. David Believe that too. For > Xavier, I don’t know. You do have a lot to bring! No question about that - you often bring very interesting ideas, concepts and game mechanisms on the table. It will be an honor to keep working with you.
