Hey Deb', It's a great idea, I had a look at the content of the course and it looks interesting, especially if you keep on working on hackit -you're going to learn lots of useful stuff for the project. It's something that is important for the project, to give its leading contributors the opportunity to learn and develop their skills.
Now, unfortunately the project can only fund the foreseeable work currently, so it's not possible to pay upfront for the complete amount because we don't know yet what new work there will be for you in the future and how you will fit and be appealed by new tasks that could arise.
