Hi,
a bit old thread, but wanted to answer - because have again the problem
with a broken drive. :/

there is the directive "Auto Select" that you can set to "no" in your device
resource.
Then this device will not be used by bareos for backup or restore.
It think this is the easiest way to accomplish what you want.
to answer this, with this the automatic "use a drive which is free"
isn't working - as i correctly understand the manual. So setting this
for all drives will get me stuck in a "no drive will be used automaticly
for backups" situation?

we got a new big tapelib, but one of the 5 LTO6 Drives is defective. I have
tried to exclude it in
the Config till it gets repaired, but that doesn't work - bareos still puts
cartridges into Drive 1,
because it thinks its the Drive2 (since commented out Drive1). So is there a
better way to exclude
on runtime a drive from usage?
so i can't restart the storage-daemon to exclude the drive, when there
are jobs running, but have a broken drive which needs to be deactivated,
so any good suggestions for this?
A Nice feature would be "disable drive X" :)
