Hi Jörg, I checked the limitations of Debian 8's own bareos package and I do not need LZ compression and neither encryption so I guess I am fine. I also presume that Debian has thoroughly tested their package for stability so I will go for Debian's own version. The only downside is that I had to download the source of the package and recompile it in order to enable glusterfs support for the storage.
