Hi Marco,

Start by updating the drive firmware, if that doesn't help read the
following.
I suggest you download HP Library and Tape Tools if it's a HP drive or the
relevant IBM tools if it's an IBM drive. They will allow you to run some
diagnostis on the drive and provide valuable information should you need to
contact your supplier. The error you're seeing can be caused by a
combination of drive firmware and maybe a brand new tape or drive firmware
vs. scsi/fc driver in the os.
