Hello dear Bareos users! I'm trying to set up backups for my server at home. So far I've managed to get a test job going, with the FD running on the same machine as the Director. But when I try to run a job with a client on another machine, I get an authentication error:
15-Dec 15:35 server-dir JobId 14: Fatal error: Authorization key rejected by File Daemon jockej-fd. Please see http://doc.bareos.org/master/html/bareos-manual-main-reference.html#AuthorizationErrors for help. 15-Dec 15:35 server-dir JobId 14: Fatal error: Unable to authenticate with File daemon at "192.168.2.1:9102". Possible causes: Passwords or names not the same or TLS negotiation failed or Maximum Concurrent Jobs exceeded on the FD or FD networking messed up (restart daemon). Please see http://doc.bareos.org/master/html/bareos-manual-main-reference.html#AuthorizationErrors for help. 15-Dec 15:35 server-dir JobId 14: Error: getmsg.c:212 Malformed message: Authorization key rejected by Director server-dir. Please see http://doc.bareos.org/master/html/bareos-manual-main-reference.html#AuthorizationErrors for help. 15-Dec 15:35 server-dir JobId 14: Warning: Unexpected Client Job message: 2999 Authentication failed. 15-Dec 15:35 server-dir JobId 14: Fatal error: No Job status returned from FD. 15-Dec 15:35 server-dir JobId 14: Error: Bareos server-dir 16.2.4 (01Jul16): Build OS: amd64-portbld-freebsd11.0 freebsd 11.0-RELEASE-p1 I have checked, double checked and triple checked the name of the file daemon and the password, and I've verified that it is running on the client machine and listening on the expected port. I can telnet to the FD, so I don't think it's a firewall issue. I am using the new directory based configuration scheme, if that matters. So what else could be wrong? I'm out of ideas. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "bareos-users" group.
